Camp Korey 2010!

Camp Korey is a summer camp for kids located on the scenic Carnation Farm in Washington state. Their mission statement is:

"To honor the courage, strength, and determination of children and their families who battle life-threatening and serious illnesses; and to provide them with a safe, friendly, medically sound environment in which to simply have fun and be kids."

Mitochondrial disease is more common than cystic fibrosis, yet is often under-recognized or misdiagnosed.  Living with mitochondrial disease can be challenging, as the disease often results in multiple organ systems affected, extreme fatigue, and day-to-day variability.  Going to camp is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!
Check out the stories and pictures below of a few campers who have mitochodnrial disease and who are having a great time at Camp Korey!
