Carnitine brands

Recently I switched l-carnitine brands for insurance purposes. I started feeling extremely tired, including legs not working well and digestive system slowing way down (both have been pretty good recently). Normally when I am tired there is a very long list of possibilities of what could have caused it, but this time it was fairly obvious it was the switch in brands of levocarnitine. When I switched back, I returned to how I normally feel. The brand I feel good on is l-Carnitine Pure Encapsulations. The other I am not sure because of how the pharmacy packaged them. They were idividually packaged because they disovled very easily, were white, and were round and flat. I am not prone to allergies, so I'm wondering what went on. Have others had experience with different brands of l-carnitine?

I switched to the round

I switched to the round tablet kind too since insurance covers those and was very disappointed. It might be because they smell so fishy that I wasn't doing a good job of taking them, but I switched back to my old brand. It's worth the extra money, especially since now a lot of the vitamins are buy one get one free :).

Has anyone had side affects

Has anyone had side affects when they upped their carnitine dose? Before I upped my dose I was doing pretty well. When I bumped up my dose I got a nasty headache and had more trouble with involuntary jerking then I have had in quite a while. For now I'm back to my old dose. I don't know if my symptoms were just an odd coincidence or not, but I'm not overly anxious to up my dose again.
