Hi everybody, I have a quick question we have our first appointment with Dr.Cohen in 2 weeks for our son. I was wondering how do these appointments work? Are most people just there one day, or if they do further testing is it done then? My son has already had a muscle biopsy but no further labs. Which place do most people stay at? Thanks for any help!

Stay at the Ronald McDonald

Stay at the Ronald McDonald House. It is a very nice house and gated and safe. $20 per night. Last time we were there they had small fridges in each room. Stayed there lots of times. They have a shuttle to the hospital, you have the front desk person call for it and there is one to get back. It is definitely better than paying $150 per night at a hotel and having to drive to the clinic. Beth

Hi Carrie, I definitely recommend that you call Dr. Cohen's office and ask them what tests he will be conducting and if it is planned for one or two days. We have been the the Cleveland Clinic many times (we are from NY) and sometimes its all on one day, sometimes two. They try and make it as easy as possible if you are from out of town and have flights to catch. We usually stay at the Intercontinental. Its not cheap but you can walk to the appointment. Good luck. -Ellen
