My 10 year old daughter was diagnosed earlier this year with what "might be" a variation of Kearns-Sayre syndrome. She's always been small for her age. When she was 5, she developed type 1 diabetes and was also diagnosed with ADHD (hyperactive, which really doesn't fit). Then this past fall we noticed that she was losing muscle control of her eyes and her eye doctor diagnosed CPOE. then she failed a hearing test. Now she has hearing aids. In spite of all this, she's doing well academically and is taking dance lessons. She takes carnitine and Co Q. Lately we noticed her eye control was worsening; she also just asked me if we could go get her hearing aids "fixed". So that's worrisome! |
