Hi from Ireland. My name is Audrey, i have 4 children, my youngest 2 are twins now 3, one of the twins has mitochondria complex iv, hes doing really well which is still leading me to question his diognosis, the doctors thought he was small when he was born he was 3lb2oz,a twin and 5wks prem, so i put it down to that, but they did the muscle biopsy and got the diognosis Feb this year? Ithink the hardest part of all this is not knowing what to expect,,the unexplained, how ive coped is i went through 3 stages, 1.Grieve it, 2.TRY & understand it & 3.TRY and get on with it....hes in preschool now and loving it, he has no sympthoms,a little small but my husbands family are small..anyway fingers crossed hell keep up the good work... New to the sit so hi to all from Ireland. __________________

Hi Audrey,
I'm also Irish and have been living in Sydney, Australia for many years. I have been diagnosed with Mitochondrial Disease now 2 years. Was it a big job getting your son diagnosed in Ireland? and do you have all the help in medical field you need there?
