Muscle Biopsy

We are finally at the beginning of a possible answer for my honey's fatigue, after a long road of docs who would not listen to us.  Have been directed to a Columbia University doc, Dr Michio Hirano, who suggests a muscle biopsy as the "gold standard" for a diagnosis.  Honey currently has a higher lactate level and mri reveals a 6mm pituitaty tumor as well.  I just read that there should be DNA testing first, before jumping to biopsy.  If this is so, what do we ask for?????  He is considered a top doc in New York, and Dr. Grant, also from that same hospital, will do biopsy on Sept 17th, so we finally feel a glimmer of hope.  Our other question is, they said to stop any vit e, c, or coq10, prior to biopsy, but due to my hubby's anxiety, with all the medical debt and stress of brain news, I began a supplement of b6, calcium/magnesium, ip6gold, containing inositol hexaphosphate, phorphorous, maganese, L-theanine, and   a separate magnesium supplement, however, I just read that magnesium/calcium will reduce lactate levels, so now I'm concerned if this will change the result?  He wants to look at respitory chain activity, so do you know if any of these supplements affect energy production, and when they do a biopsy, are they measuring lactate in it?  Any info available will be greatly appreciated...Many Thanks and Blessings....Superman's Girl......
