MY son

I just wanted to interduse you to my son

my son Nathaniel who is 9 is in the proses of being tested for mto

here is his story

when he was born he needed IV sugar fluieds because his blood sugar was very low

he has RSV at 5 months old and many bouts with pnamonia

he has suffered from asthma since 2 months old

at age 2 he had 150 words and at age 2 1/2 he lost them all

at age 2 he had febrile seizures up untill age 7 he had 20 or more

at age 3 he was diagnosed with Autism

at age 5 he was diagnosed with colitis he has never had a formed bowl movment his hole life

at age 8 he was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes

and now he suffer from boughts of tiredness some times every week and some times once a month we never know

his heart rate can range from 30's all the way up to 188

in the past 9 weeks he has spent 6 of them in the hospital tryign to figure out whats going on

with his autism it makes it hard to firgure out if he is in pain since he either doesnt feel pain or he just cant tell us

if he goes more than 2 hours with out eating his blood sugars can dip down into the 50's without any symtoms

he gets very dehidreded very fast

Hi Becky, I have a few of the symptoms you listed myself. If you have facebook I would recommend checking out mito-kids. A dad who has four teenage daughters who all have mito made a documentary that you can view on that page. It chronicles the girl's lives and I was reminded of it because your son has a lot of the symptoms they have. It might be encouraging to see that other parents have kids with similar struggles.Best wishes!
