The school where my daugher attends 2nd grade is treating her as if she is incapable of learning and pulls her out of class under an IEP for replacement with much simpler curriculum that she is capable of doing.  they don't even bother to try to understand the underlying Mito condition, since its very mild, and pull her out of class to study in a small group with kids with ADD and other conditions.  She is becoming bored and dissolusioned with school.  How do you take action to get the school to adjust their plan?  are there any good legal network sites that will help me identify advocates who can assist me in this process?

any advice is greatly appreciated.

Margaret this must be so frustrating for your daughter as well as obviously you too. Is it possible to request an educational Psycologists report to really judge your daughters accademic ability. Maybe then you can get the school to realise that it is the physical aspect of school that is the problem not the curriculum per se. I am in the UK so my advice may not be totally relevant to your system but that would be my first port of call...an assessment by an Ed Psych would at leas allow then to understand her cognitive abiilities hopefully. Hugs
