The Pizza Test

Print When I was trying to get a diagnosis for Hypokalemic Periodic Paralysis, I did what I called the Pizza Test (not a formal test for any condition, but a decent indicator that something is wrong). Has anyone else done something similar? What where its affects on you? Pizza Test: 1) Eat a low carbohydrate diet (80-150 grams of carbs per day) for a week. Document how you feel during the week. 2) At the end of the week eat a high carb meal (like Pizza). Document how you feel for the rest of the day and the next day. 3) If you need a low carb diet, you will feel better during the week of the test, especially towards the end of the week. The Pizza will make you feel terrible. If you need a high carb diet you will feel increasingly miserable during the week and then much better after the high carb meal.
