The percent of mutated cells.
- HeteroplasmyApplies to variants in mitochondrial DNA. Homoplasmy is the presence of only one variant, in a given mitochondrial gene, in an individual. Heteroplasmy is the presence in an individual of two more variants of the same gene. The degree of heteroplasmy in an individual is the relative frequency of the "normal" variant versus that of the mutant variant.
