In the best interest of our patient community, MitoAction has made the tough decision to cancel our in-person support events scheduled through the end of May. We will continue to evaluate the COVID-19 situation with our Medical Advisory Board and Board of Directors, and continue to review the recommendations from the CDC to determine if we need to revisit events scheduled beyond May. We will keep everyone informed as more information is available. As for the next steps for our planned in-person MitoSocials, we are reaching out to our incredible volunteers to transition to online meet-ups using Zoom and Facebook Video Chats. Our goal is to keep this community of people connected. Stay tuned for more details, and if you would like to “host” an online meet-up for your local mito community, please email us info@mitoaction.org.
Another great way to stay connected is to join our weekly support calls and Monthly Mito Expert Series presentations. Being virtual, these will continue as planned, and our Mito411 volunteers are here to take calls and inquiries. Please reach out to us at mito411@mitoaction.org or 888-MITO-411.
Rest assured that we are committed to continuing our support of the Mito community through this challenging time. The MitoAction team will be here to continue to provide the needed support for our Mito community.
We encourage everyone to stay informed with the most updated information on COVID-19 and the best ways to keep you and your family safe. We will continue to post resources on our website and social media to support this effort. More details will be available in the coming days.
As we all work together to get through this unprecedented time, remember that MitoAction is here for you!
